You Know Your Campaign Is In Trouble When...

You have nothing to offer but lies, even when there is actually an opening.

Bush hasn't said much about how he's going to deal with Social Security. And Social Security needs attention. So, Kerry is going to step up to the plate and hit a home run, outlining Bush's failings with regard to Social Security, and give yet another of his "I have a Plan" speeches, right?

Nope. All he can do is tell lies.

I was beat to it: I was wondering if you hold all of factcheck's other articles in the same regard as this type.

I go there often and feel that while both tend to exaggerate and play with numbers (as a math geek, I'm pretty knowledgable about this), Bush's "misstatements" are far scarier.

Side note: A while back, you asked how I found you. You were on blogger's recently updated list and your blog has a catchy name. I rarely check that list, but I'm glad I did that night.

ummm... well, see, the thing is... OK, that was the first FactCheck.org article I've actually read.

It seemed perfectly balanced to me, seeing as how my highly trained senses smelled a rat when Kerry said, to the wheelchair and walker crowd, that Bush was going to jack their Social Security.

No doubt the maligning of actual facts and figures goes on unabated. My favorite quote from years ago was when Reagan stated that the "rate at which inflation is increasing is decreasing" or something like that. What the masses heard was "the rate bla bla of inflation bla bla is decreasing."

Which is the opposite of what was taking place. fb
